Gramma's Easy Biscuit Recipe

My gramma's baking powder biscuits were the BEST - great flavour & texture.  Easy to make, too!  This is her easy biscuit recipe, along with some helpful tips.

YOU WILL NEED     All-Purpose Flour Shortening, Lard, or Butter Milk or Buttermilk Baking Powder Salt

Mix dry ingredients. Using a fork or pastry cutter, cut the shortening into the dry ingredients until it’s evenly distributed, in small pieces.

Add milk, stir JUST until dough comes together. If it's too crumbly, add a small amount of extra milk. If it's sticky, add a small amount of flour.

Pull dough together into a ball, place on a lightly floured work surface.  Gently roll dough out  about 1″ thick

Cut into rounds with a drinking glass - I like to use about 3″ diameter.

Arrange biscuits on prepared baking sheet.  Bake until golden brown on top.
