This Biscoff Hot Chocolate is a fun variation on a traditional winter beverage. The cookie butter makes it almost like a S'Mores Hot Cocoa!

A mug of Biscoff hot cocoa, garnished with whipped cream, drizzled cookie butter, and crushed biscoff cookies. Overlaid text says biscoff hot chocolate.

Recently, I went on a giant hot chocolate recipe design binge.

It all started out with replicating the Pistachio White Hot Chocolate we got addicted to (Via Second Cup), moved on to me doing a Sugar Free Pistachio White Hot Chocolate, and expanded out to a couple more keto recipes, knowing I’d be going back on the diet soon.

I happened to have a big jar of Nutella on hand at the time, and had the idea to use that as a base for a Nutella Hot Chocolate, which was absolutely as ridiculously delicious as it sounds.

I can’t even remember what made me think of cookie butter at the time, but that ended up being the “logical” extension of that Nutella idea.

So, obviously we had to make THAT a thing!

Unfortunately, this was the only recipe I wasn’t able to try myself.

I’m allergic to gluten, and cookie butter is literally a spread made out of cookies. They’re caramelized and blended with other ingredients to form a product that I hear is AMAZING - it sure smells great!

No worries, though - my husband was happy enough to be a guinea pig for the idea!

He LOVED it, and said it was “really fun” and was “like drinking a hot cookie” - almost like liquid s’mores, between the cookie / cinnamon / chocolate combination.

SO - if you don’t have a gluten issue?

You’ll have to take his word - and repeat requests for more! - and be sure to give this one a try!

2 mugs of Biscoff hot chocolate, garnished with whipped cream, drizzled cookie butter, and crushed biscoff cookies.

    Ingredients

While this Biscoff Hot Chocolate recipe uses only a few basic ingredients, they’re not necessarily ALL ones that you can easily find in grocery stores. So, it’s good to plan ahead!

    A few notes for you:

    Biscoff Spread

We used actual Biscoff Spread, but there are several brands of Cookie Butter, like Speculoos Cookie Butter.

Any of them will work in this recipe, as will any fun alternative “butter”.

    Milk

You can use whatever kind of milk you like in this recipe.

Unsweetened Almond Milk has been my milk of choice for years now, ever since I needed to switch to a non-dairy milk.

As far as other plant based milks, Oat milk, Cashew Milk, Flax Milk, Macadamia Milk and Coconut Milk are all good options, and will taste great in this recipe.

Beyond that, regular milk works, too. You can use whatever you like, but I’d recommend at least 2% fat, for a creamy hot cocoa.

Whole milk works well, but I find 1% / skim milk to be too watery, IMHO.

As a note: for a richer hot chocolate, swap out ½ cup of milk for heavy cream.

    Everything Else

Rounding out this recipe, you will need:

    Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
    Granulated Sugar
    Salt

... Don’t really have anything to add, here!

    Optional Toppings

Half the fun of making fancy drinks is dressing them up with your favorite toppings.

Some of my favourite options for this Biscoff Hot Chocolate recipe:

    Whipped Cream
    Crushed Biscoff Cookies
Melted Biscoff Spread (as a drizzle)
    Chocolate Shavings
    Mini Marshmallows
    Mini Chocolate Chips

2 mugs of Biscoff hot cocoa, garnished with whipped cream, drizzled cookie butter, and crushed biscoff cookies.
