These are my all time favourite cookie, (I could live on these, popcorn and Diet Coke) have you ever tried making them with a sugar substitute. I am diabetic now and trying to see if something like a 1 to 1 sugar substitute like stevia might work or any other suggestions. I tried one time and failed miserably but was also away on vacation and stove and pot were horrendous. I want them to taste and have texture exactly like original recipe if at all possible.

I haven't made it with sugar substitutes yet, but I would image that a monkfruit / erythritol granulated sweetener would work well.

The cookies don't stay together. Why?

I'm guessing your measurements were off, and had too much oatmeal/etc for the sauce?

Hard to say without being there, I've never had a batch NOT stick together.

I’ve had a batch not stick together and it was because I had overcooked it. Hopefully you’ve had success. This is really a super delicious cookie that’s easy to make. They sure don’t last long at my home! <3

Mine didn’t stick together at the start because the batter was too hot, once it cooled down slightly they stuck together. Also could be not enough sauce too much oatmeal mixture

These are delicious and dangerous! 😛 Made some for a last-minute picnic, and wow, so easy and tasty! Added some dark cocoa powder, and dessicated coconut too - simply divine! I don't think they will last long in the house! 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing!
